Notes on Lokal Survey I
A disaster relief shelter meant to be created from readily available materials in disaster prone areas. Built using principles of tension and compression (tensegrity), it is necessarily unfinished; and with its struts bisecting the structure itself, it is uninhabitable even when fully deployed Aiming to engage time scales outside of the human one, this piece is designed to change slowly over the course of its display. The longer the shelter is deployed, the bungee cords lose elasticity causing the structure to collapse into itself in a gesture so slow it takes weeks or months to complete and is imperceptible on a day-to-day basis.
